1. Who we are

Avanté Watches (“Avanté”, “we”, “us”) is responsible for the personal data described on this page.

2. What we collect and why

Orders. When you order, we receive your name, delivery and billing address, email address, your phone number if you give it, what you ordered and the payment status. We use this to process, ship and invoice your order and to handle returns and warranty claims. Legal basis: performing our contract with you, and our legal duty to keep tax records. Without these details we cannot process your order.

Payments. You pay through our payment providers, with the methods shown at checkout (such as Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and iDEAL | Wero). They process your payment details. We never see or store your full card number. Legal basis: performing our contract with you.

Questions, email and chat. If you email us or use the contact form or the chat, we receive your name, email address and message, and use them to answer you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in helping you, and our contract with you when it is about an order.

Newsletter. If you sign up, we send news about Avanté to your email address. Legal basis: your consent. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can withdraw your consent at any time.

Reviews. If you write a review, we publish it with the name you give. Legal basis: your consent.

Your Moon and Find your finish. The moon phase calculator and the finish quiz run in your browser. The date and the answers you enter are not sent to us or stored.

Website visits. When you visit our website, Wix receives your IP address and browser details in order to show you our pages. Legal basis (also for essential cookies): our legitimate interest in a working and secure website.

No automated decisions. We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing.

3. Who helps us

  • Wix (Wix.com Ltd.) hosts our website and runs our shop, checkout, forms, newsletter, chat and reviews. Wix processes this data on our behalf.

  • Our payment providers process your payment. If you pay with PayPal, Apple Pay or Google Pay, PayPal, Apple or Google also receive your payment details.

  • PostNL delivers your order (abroad together with local delivery partners) and receives your name and delivery address, and for shipments outside the EU the details customs needs.

  • Google and Meta (Facebook, Instagram) also receive data through the statistics and advertising tools described in section 5.

  • BrandPush supplies the press logos under “As seen on” on our homepage. When they load, BrandPush receives your IP address. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in showing where Avanté has been featured.

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as described here, or when the law requires it.

4. Outside the EU

Wix, Google and Meta also process data outside the European Economic Area, for example in Israel or the United States. They rely on an adequacy decision of the European Commission (for example for Israel) or on the EU standard contractual clauses. You can ask us for a copy.

5. Cookies, statistics and advertising

On your first visit, a banner asks which cookies you accept.

  • Essential cookies keep the website and your shopping cart working and secure. They are always on.

  • Statistics and marketing cookies are only used if you accept them. With your consent we use Wix’s visitor statistics, the Google tag (Google Analytics and, when we advertise on Google, Google Ads) and the Meta pixel, to understand how the website is used and to measure and target our ads.

  • Our shop is also connected to Meta through a server connection (the Conversions API) that can report events such as a completed order, so we can measure our ads.

You can change your choice at any time: delete the cookies for avantewatches.com in your browser and the banner appears again.

6. How long we keep data

  • Order and invoice records: 7 years, because Dutch tax law requires it.

  • Emails, chat and form messages: as long as needed to help you and to handle follow-up questions about your order.

  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.

  • Reviews: as long as the review is on our website, or until you ask us to remove it.

  • Statistics and advertising data: according to the retention settings of Wix, Google and Meta.

  • Cookies: until the cookie expires or you delete it.

7. Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict its use, and to receive it in a portable format. You can object at any time to use based on our legitimate interest. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time; this does not affect use before you withdrew it. Send your request to info@avantewatches.com. We reply within one month and may ask you to confirm your identity.

You can also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl) or to the supervisory authority in your own EU country.

8. Security

Our website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and payments run through specialised payment providers.

9. Children

Our shop is not meant for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

​

10. Changes

We may update this privacy policy. The current version is always on this page, with the date at the top.
